What is Sexual Violence?

Sexual Violence is any sexual act which takes place without freely given consent or where someone forces or manipulates someone else into unwanted sexual activity. It can include rape, sexual assault, aggravated sexual assault, sexual violence in childhood, sexual harassment and sex trafficking.

The age of consent in Ireland is 17 years, but this does not automatically grant consent.

All forms of sexual violence are serious. You do not need to experience more than one to be a survivor of sexual violence. We are here for you if you feel you experienced any form of sexual violence.
