Get Involved

West Cork Beacon offers free, non-judgemental and confidential listening. We provide both information and support services

Get Involved

Thank you for wanting to get involved and support West Cork Beacon.

There are a number of ways you could support our work.

Donate Now

Donations are vital to allow us to provide the support services we offer in West Cork. Every donation, no matter the amount, can make a difference to someone subjected to domestic abuse or sexual violence.

You can make a one-off monetary donation or a regular donation through our online donation service.

Please Note: We do not accept physical donations (clothes, linen, toys etc) but we welcome voucher donations.

Volunteering

West Cork Beacon has been going from strength to strength throughout the years and as such we would always welcome hearing from anyone that would be interested in becoming a trustee/board member. If you feel you have the skills/time or would like further information about what is involved, please contact us.

From time to time, we look for individual volunteers to assist our service. This typically would only be a few hours of your time on limited occasions to assist us on minor projects or to help distribute our publication, West Cork Whisper, in the local area. If you want to register your interest in volunteering, please contact us.

Raise Awareness

Businesses and organisations are best placed to help raise awareness of our services to anyone who may be affected by domestic abuse or sexual violence. You can do this by sharing our social media/website or by displaying a poster or leaflets. If you are able to do so, please get in touch by calling us on 027-53847

Fundraising

1 in 4 women in Ireland have been affected by domestic abuse and 40% of people in Ireland have been affected by sexual violence. Your fundraising events and activities can help us
provide vital support services to these people including counselling, court accompaniment, housing support and continuous support.

Event ideas can include bake sales, fashion show, bingo nights, sponsored walk or marathon, quiz night – no idea is too big or too small.

We can provide posters and help to promote your event. If you are interested in supporting West Cork Beacon, please contact us on 027-53847.

Corporate Support

We are fortunate to have the support of many businesses in West Cork who recognise the vital work we are able to provide within the community. Should your company be in a position to offer support, you can do so by company donations, fundraising events and raising awareness with your employees. We also accept generous offers from businesses donating their services at no charge or low cost to assist the men and women we support.

We can also support your business by offering direct training and awareness to help implement a workplace culture of supporting survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence.

If you would like to get involved or like more information, please contact our team on 027-53847.
